• Birth is a threshold — and how we cross it matters.

I didn’t set out to become a doula. This path unfolded the way so many callings do: through lived experience, deep questioning, and a desire to make meaning from pain.

My first child was born via emergency cesarean at 34 weeks. My water broke early, and when I arrived at the hospital, it became clear that none of my providers had noticed that he was breech. I was rushed into surgery — no conversation, no compassion, no sense that I was a person in the room. It felt like I was being managed, not supported. That moment marked me. And so did what came after: postpartum anxiety, confusion, and the heavy silence of “this is just how it is.”

But I did not accept that.

I spent the next few years studying everything I could get my hands on — from the data and statistics behind rising cesarean and induction rates, to the spiritual and emotional practices that help us reclaim agency in birth. I took courses on VBAC, immersed myself in pregnancy and birth education, trained in mindfulness, and worked through my own trauma with tapping and hypnobirthing.

When I gave birth to my second child — in my home, in water, surrounded by people who understood — everything changed.

That birth healed me. It showed me what’s possible when women and families are supported as they create life. And it anchored a truth I now carry into every birth I attend:

You are enough. You are unique. You deserve to be deeply supported.

  • I work with families navigating all types of births — from home to hospital, from VBACs to first-time parents just starting to explore their options.

Whether I’m attending your birth or walking with you through education and decision-making beforehand, my role is to offer grounded, evidence-informed, emotionally intelligent support.

    Sometimes that looks like:

    • Helping you decide between providers or birth settings

    • Sitting with your partner and helping them feel confident in their role

    • Offering real-talk about hospital timelines, home birth logistics, or VBAC possibilities

    • Holding space for your story — especially if your last birth was traumatic or confusing

    • Helping you feel peace and clarity in the face of a million decisions

Whatever path you choose, my job is not to sway you toward one outcome — it’s to support you in making the one that feels most aligned, safe, and empowering for you.
